Enceladus is Out and Europa is In for Target Worlds

Enceladus, a moon of Saturn, is a Rockhouse favorite for NASA's explorations since it has a great deal of liquid water but so does Europa, a moon of Jupiter.  The intention has not been solidly announced but there is quite a bit of publicity just now about NASA deciding Europa is the target and the intention is to get there by 2031.  (RT:  Alien life the target of NASA mission to Jupiter’s frozen moon)

Note:  the title is a bit out of whack since the water is not frozen and that's what makes it interesting.

Here's a cool-looking spacecraft but it doesn't mean much since NASA hasn't even designed it yet.

The Rockhouse had been pulling for Enceladus for the exploration.  (Ithaka:  NASA: Potentially Hospitable Enceladus)

There's no disappointment about going to Europa instead since it's a splendid target as well and for the same reasons, plus it's closer.

The thing we gain most of all from this is the time frame since the estimation is of a launch by 2031 and, frankly, this is disappointing since I would rather like to see what they find.  Nevertheless, it's in the spirit of man to explore so I love it that they do it at all.

The possibility of finding 'simple forms of life' is mentioned but there's no reason it should remain simple when it has the resources to develop.  Recognizing simple life when you find it is not always easy, however.

Available on Amazon for about twelve bucks.
