New American Illegal Land Speed Record

Take a bow, Hector Fraire.  He just got busted for 208 mph in, get this, a 2011 Mustang.  (Fox News: Oklahoma speeder caught at 208 mph)

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Fraire’s 2011 Ford Mustang was then clocked doing 176 mph and 208 mph, and tried to elude the chase vehicle by turning off his headlights and brake lights.

Chase vehicle?  wtf kind of chase vehicle is after him unless maybe it's a helicopter but do those small cop choppers go that fast??

Update:

This bugged me and I looked up helicopters.  The fastest helicopters in the world can go over 200 mph but most of them are military.  The cop helicopters seem to top out at 160 mph.  (WondersList:  Top 10 Fastest Helicopters in the World)

Whatever was chasing him probably wasn't a helicopter so what was it??

This guy is nineteen so I'm sure the judge is just going to love him every kinda way.

Cocky li'l fucker, ain't he.

He doesn't look intoxicated so I'll assume he's got crazy big balls or he's just crazy.

The biggest question is how does he get a Mustang over 200 mph when I thought they had governors installed which held them to no more than 150-160 mph.  I've read of some after-market kits which will rid you of tedious performance-robbing problems like environmental controls and I think there were some to kill any governor but you still need to get the Mustang as fast as an F4 Ferrari.  Apparently he did that so the question is live.

Maybe the Mustang is super-tricked out so he can play Fast and the Furious but he seems like he would be too young to have the big bucks that would cost.

208 mph in a Mustang.  Fark!

Hennessy will take a stock Mustang GT and with a little more than a supercharger turn it into a 200+mph car. I think he charges about $15k for the mods

It seems to me there are many more 200 mph cars than there are drivers with 200 mph skills (larfs).

$15K ... dayum, too crazy.
