There was a recent stone skipping event in which a man in Vermont skipped a stone from one side of a lake to the other. We are not worthy before the King of the Stone Skippers, Kurt 'Mountain Man' Steiner. (The Guardian: Stone skimmed 300ft from one side of Vermont lake to the other – video)
Get this: he did NOT break the record. Since we cannot embed that video, maybe there's another one. The art of stone skipping was probably not invented in America ... but this country appears to have perfected it.
