Formula One at Austin, Texas

People in the U.S. don't much get it about Formula One but they will get a chance this weekend when the F1 drivers will race at Circuit of the Americas near Austin (WFAA:  Formula One racing returns to Texas).

Lotho had told me about it I had thought it impossible due to ticket prices being F1 high and that looks to be true as, apparently, even 'inexpensive' tickets are $300.  It would highly-ironic to see a Formula One race over here after wandering all over Europe but it would be outrageously cool too.

Indy car racing is not at all like Formula One as it's more like NASCAR except with sexier cars.  It still takes place on the big oval speedways and usually goes for five hundred miles.  For me, there's much more elegance in running on road courses as that's where Alonso will show you the most beautiful passes you will ever see.

So, if you're anywhere near Austin and have a big pile of money, check it out.

Hmm...I just checked and General Admission tickets are $49 and bleacher seats start at $79.
