Don't be anyone getting worried about Silas getting dazzled by all the Hollywood from Trump but it does amuse me to see him doing it better than the L.A. Hollywood just now. That I don't like the directions Trump is choosing to go takes nothing at all away from the direct and forthright way he has been doing them and in significant contrast to previous Presidential opening acts.
He's been dialing it by the numbers, one, two, three, and what's left of the neoliberals is furious about it. There's only one theme predominating of resistance to everything as they recline back to enjoy the position of wealth and ease which comes from being the party which doesn't have to do anything anymore. The parties have changed places but they can't gridlock because Democrats don't have enough votes. Most of the shouting is just pointless noise unless they start shooting but they probably won't.
The theme song for Neoliberals has been generally to act now as much like Republicans as you can. Mitch McConnell hasn't shown any more animation than a goldfish in eight years and now Democrats can do that too. I hope Nancy Pelosi does it soon since that chowderhead made a fool of herself in charging Trump with getting Yemeni kids wasted after Clinton and Obama had pushed the weapons to the Saudis. If you never had an argument for term limits previously, Pelosi should fulfill the requirement for you.
The Modern Era has given us Schrödinger's global politics in which every box has another dead cat inside it.
Ed: all except Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard!
Yep
Cadillac Man may dig the political phenomenon since it's been so striking with Trump. He came out de hole like Jack de Bear.
Note: I have no idea what that means beyond getting a good start in a drag race about a million years ago.
There's been something of a tentative approach with previous Presidents whereas Trump has been throwing out these Executive Orders like Zeus throwing lightning bolts. The shit weasels are turning on him but the difference this time seems to be Trump knows it's coming and takes it in stride. Even though I loathe the agenda, his approach looks masterful. Reagan tried to charm people over the fact he was a criminal monster and it mostly worked but Trump really isn't trying to charm anyone; just fuckin' do it.
You can find people hating everything he does all over Twitter and they get tedious quickly so one thing which has not yet revealed for how deep it goes and how much it means is Trump's challenge to Big Pharma. (RT: Trump presses big pharma to increase US production & cut drug prices)
I have zero reason to criticize what he seems to be doing. Although I don't get the Socialist ideal, this appears to go toward live combat with one of the worst problems in the country of price-fixing pharmaceuticals to grotesque medical effect. This isn't the solution I wanted but it may make some progress to fixing or at least to some extent ameliorating a vicious problem.
I'm damned if I will resist everything as I prefer to look to see what he's doing and then consider if there's any value in it. For some of his ideas I do see value and most particularly the value remains in pulling back from the madness of nuclear provocation by Obama / Clinton.
Obama has been sniffing for dollars and there was some mention of him serving as the voice of the opposition. That won't work because he has lost the last traces of trust in moving to Palm Springs from Washington to tap into the Gold Mine of the Neoliberal Left out there. He will be reminded of his CIA heritage at every step if he comes out since no-one has a claim to honesty after that foul stain. His best move is to stick to golf while he keeps his nose far out of politics before he makes things any worse.
Trump is in a position to crush Obama now and it would be kind of comical to watch after Obama brought it on himself. Obama betrayed the Democratic Party and now we're stuck with Trump. There will be no forgiveness.

Obama leaves office with a 59% approval rating tied for 3rd with Eisenhower and slightly.behind Reagan at 63% and Clinton at 66%. This is a fact (see below),This compares to George W. Bush who left office in 2009 with a 34% approval rating (one of the lowest, tied with Jimmy Carter). This indicates that Obama does have considerable standing with the American people as of now. Americans tend to judge with their pocketbooks and the economy Obama lett Trump was drastically better than what Bush left Obama. Donald.Trump with one of the lowest ratings for an incoming elected President (under 50%) will need to show his actions turn into economic results that the American people will support. Otherwise, he will have the same standing as Bush, Carter, Nixon and Truman (all who left a mess for their successor). Already his immigration policies appear as unpopular with Republicans as with Democrats. His ability to lead will be in implementing programs that gain him at least majority acceptance. So far, it does not appear he has done so. However, he has time and good presidents learn from their mistakes. I hope he does and is able to get his approval ratings in line with the top when he leaves office.

All I really see from that listing is it shows the ones who tanked but it doesn't show any particular excellence when the first Bush rated about the same as Obama. I know Obama's approval is considered high but I don't see that as much more than shallowness relative to his implementation of robo war with drones. I suspect as his legacy that will stand far longer than any change in the economy.
Although I don't like where he goes, Trump's leadership has been remarkable since he's not letting Congress get a leg up on him. That will come since Ryan has already rebelled over some damn thing. Bringing more guns to Standing Rock can't get anything but make it uglier so the chaos is percolating and we should learn shortly if he has any real art beyond the words.
I agree that Trump's leadership has received lots of remarks. However, the majority, like yourself, don't seem to like where his leadership is going. As you indicate this currently includes a Congress controlled by his own party. While remarkable, this does not seem to indicate good leadership. He still has plenty of time to display good, not just remarkable leadership.

Sorry Blogger is so clumsy about handling comments. You can see I'm not doing much moderation since I scan to see if anything is spam which is easy to spot and then authorize everything. I don't really see what's in it until after.
It's tough to tell what majority means when so much of is measured by crowd volume and they will scream it means something when 100K people out of 300M sign a petition (shrug).
Sorry about hairsplitting but I do insist Trump's leadership is good insofar as he goes where he wants without much apparent diversion. I don't believe his direction or that of the party is any good and the statement is only that he's good at doing it which is a substantial contrast to Obama's bitchslaps if Congress didn't do what he wanted. Probably that comes but there hasn't been time for it yet.
