Paste - Incredibly Useful and Only $6.99 at the App Store

PASTE does just what it says only it does a whole lot better by remembering as many COPY (CMD-V) commands as you have used and keeps the result from the newest to oldest.  Various utilities extend basic PASTE functions for Apple or Windows but this one is good at staying out of the way when not needed.  (PASTE Web Site)

Staying out of the way is good but shining in performance is better.  A typical application is I may start writing something in Facebook but it grows either through additions from me or comments from others.  Facebook is adequate for same-day conversations but don't look for them the next day since they will probably be lost or forgotten.

Where PASTE shines is when I want to take those threads to the blog to make them coherent, as opposed to babble amid so much of it on Facebook (or any social network).  I can copy as many items from a thread as I like and then paste them directly into a live document somewhere else but I don't have to go back and forth as many times as there are items to copy, instead bag them all at once and then paste them all at once.  Here at the Rockhouse, that's high value.

There is no change in the way the CMD-C or CMD-V commands are used but rather PASTE adds its function in the background and you invoke is as you choose.

Note:  the default version of PASTE from the App Store does not permit a direct paste into a document but rather it pastes your selection back to the Apple's default paste buffer and you can paste it into the document from there.  For direct pasting into documents, download their small helper application (free) and it's running here with zero difficulties.  The helper application is available on the PASTE Web Site helper page.
