On an Exotic Frontier of Feminism with Lindsay Vonn and Wind in the Face

She's an extraordinarily attractive lass but there's much more to her that.

More than likely many already know this side of her which is far from red carpets.

Lindsay Vonn is a ferociously-talented skier and has won many trophies proving it.  She has the frustration of participating in any form of competition which does not allow competition between the sexes in that she can never say she is the best even when it may well be true.  To fix that she wants to race against men.

RT:   'I want to be pushed to maximum' - Skier Lindsey Vonn aiming to compete against men

She doesn't need some convoluted political process to get permission but she does need approval from the governing officials of the sport.

FIS women’s race director Atle Skaardal stands against Vonn’s idea of skiing in the men’s downhill, insisting that if Vonn is allowed to enter a men’s race, then men must be allowed to ski with women.

Fair enough but that leaves a standoff which leaves the next move at full equal rights.  I can't speak for women so I don't know if most women skiers want to ski with men.  However, we see women serving in the Infantry, fighting fires, and doing police work.  There's no argument of if they can do this then they should be able to do that but it's the situation which exists now.

Zen Booboo:  Feminism is kind of a mess right now, Silas

Sure, Booboo, but we don't want to get tangled up in that when the subject is Lindsay Vonn trying to get around it.  Through all the years men and women thought separation was the fair way to do it so there's not any particular Feminist drive in it.  Lindsay Vonn wants to compete for personal validation more than for a cause but, regardless, the Rockhouse wishes her big success with it.

Zen Booboo:  she's just grandstanding

They're all just grandstanding when Grand Prix skiing won't last long without an audience, mate.

Good luck, Lindsay Vonn.

Zen Booboo:  you're biased because she's beautiful

No, Booboo, since I appreciate her beauty and instead I'm biased by her determination along with her exceptional skills.

Zen Booboo:  ok, Silas.  That's fair.  Let's wait to see what happens but this was long and meanwhile I need ...

A nap?

Zen Booboo:  that's right, Silas
