MP3 is a musical butter substitute relative to AIFF which is CD-quality audio. Silas Scarborough will only upload master quality from this point forward because he believes MP3 is an insult to listeners and you deserve the best I can make. This is not CD suicide since compilations as I believe they should flow can only from me. This will not affect proceeding with releasing the "Ride the Dragon" CD.
If you're doubting what I say about insults, consider the AIFF for the "Ride the Dragon - Live at Amsterdam" is 88 MB. The low-rent MP3 version is 11.5 MB. So, sure, tell me again, MP3 is just as good; it only contains one eighth the musical information. It's logically impossible for it to be 'just as good' although the simulation is often not too bad. (The link is to the newly-uploaded AIFF version)
Note: live quality and studio quality are hugely different things and, frankly, we don't like studio quality all that much because it always sounds like something which came out of a refrigerator ... stiff, cold, etc.
Note: I do not know where that stage voice originated ... or why (larfs). Of course it's me as it would not be funny otherwise.
Converting the AIFF to MP3 is a simple thing but please do not tell me. The only possible reason for that is to use it on a cellphone and, baby, I don't care. In any case, I will upload the best quality I can and it's your choice then whether to downgrade it.
In case you do not know how to do it, load the AIFF track into iTunes and then CTRL-click the file name. Then select 'Create MP3 Version' so it really isn't difficult if you choose to do it. My only request is, as above, don't tell me; I don't want to know.
It's all for peace and the best life we can make within it.
