You Say You Never Played for Robots in a Roomful of Stars?

You can play for many audiences in this twisted world but you won't find audiences like these ones anywhere else.  Cosplay is all very well and have fun with it but these ones are real.  The ones who survive in Second Life are the ones with a real awareness behind every avatar is a living, breathing human.  That's actually huge for performance because it's so important to understand it's not just cartoons watching you.

Let's use this as a little boost for sound checks.  You need them in virtual just as much as in real.  Many juniors (i.e. nothing to do with age) don't feel the need for a sound check and then almost invariably go into 20-30 minutes of jacking around trying to get the audio connected during which time any audience the venue owner has rousted for the show will probably split.

You will get two, maybe three, shots with a venue owner but if that kind of unprofessional problem keeps coming back then you almost certainly won't get another invitation.
