Of Cabbages, Kings, and Trey Gowdy

Republicans aren't stupid but they are good at playing it on TV because that kind of idiocy will keep liberals amused all day.  The outrage, the gall, how can anyone be that fucking stupid!

Easy.  They aren't.

Trey Gowdy is one of the chief trouts in the Senate because he's already got a confirmed coke bust on his record so he won't ever be anything more than a Senate flapjaw.  He will continue to serve the Party so long as they pay him big bucks and pretend to take him seriously but they all know he's just a fop playing to a fake audience.

There is no future to risk for Trey Gowdy in endlessly-harassing Clinton about Benghazi, email, or why, like Boehner, she has such poor taste in clothes despite indescribable personal wealth.  There's no future to risk for Gowdy because he doesn't have one anyway.

There are much more aggressively-stupid ones than Trey Gowdy who claim people become transgender because some company put a symbol of Satan in their corporate logo.  These ones are the lesser trout who have no particular value in stooging committees so they comment on them instead.

The instant reaction to that by liberals is outrage, we must sign a petition, we must create a Facebook group to protest, plus any other ineffectual thing they may deem suitably hopeless in effecting any substantive change.

All the while the GOP powers-that-be laugh with cynical amusement regarding the ease with which they can dazzle the crowd which almost never talks about banks, nuclear weapons, or never-ending war.

And the money rolls in hand over fist.

The Satan in a label buffoons aren't any more stupid than knowing which side of the bread has the butter and they will say whatever is asked to keep butter on it, especially they couldn't make a fraction of that money doing any real job.  They know they're just pawns for use by the GOP King as he chooses but they don't care because they're greased well for it.

Some measure of the kibble I've been dusting off lately out of Facebook has been forever posting this or that revelation about the most low-rent GOP action of the day thus fulfilling every hope of the GOP King who sent the little pawn to do it.
