The Ukraine situation ... every area of conflict becomes a 'situation,' doesn't it ... has become the euphemistic alternative term for Nazi shithole as that country has been swarming with Nazis ever since WWII during which time a good many aligned with the Nazis against the Russians. Even now, thirty percent of the rebel coalition is comprised of hard-core white supremacist xenophobiacs (yah, made that one up).
Note: all of the above is well-documented and I'll run it down if you want to contest any of it but I warrant it's true.
In general portrait, the American news channels are painting the western two thirds of Ukraine as Euro-leaning (i.e. good guys) and the eastern third of Ukraine as Russia-leaning (i.e. bad guys). NATO has loaded up lots of guns on the western perimeter and Russia has loaded up lots more on the eastern perimeter. So begins the stand-off and the name-calling commences.
There is little more than white hat / black hat squabbling as in Putin better back off or then I'll really get pissed. It's not clear why anyone ever cared if he does or does not back off as see above about Ukraine being a Nazi shithole.
The propaganda part is how much emphasis is given to the presence of Nazis in western Ukraine. In reviewing CNN today, there was no mention of it.
Why not.
When there are billions of US dollars going to support the revolution driven in large part by people who openly espouse white supremacy, why is there no protest. They have been holding openly-Nazi marches in western Ukraine, most notably in Lviv.
Why is it difficult to understand why Putin resists.
Nowhere in the world lost as much to Nazis as Russia and got less credit for defeating them. America claims it won WWII but, in fact, America and Russia did it when likely neither could have done it alone. Tens of millions of Russian lives were lost so why in flaming hell would you ever imagine Putin would suffer Nazis to advance on Russian loyalists. It will not ever happen. He will fight them and he will fight you. Of course he will. It's self-defense and he knows from history the consequence of ignoring it.
America is on the wrong side and it would be good if people recognized that very damn quickly before making one hell of a mistake.

Yevette studies this stuff meticulously and she doesn't throw out ANY news source as possibly having value.
