Congratulations on All the Dead People in Ukraine

There's nothing like a civil war for CNN.  It's better than a plane crash as then their shit for brains pundits can give opinions on it ... unless it's flight MH-370 and then their shit for brains pundits can give opinions about nothing whatsoever.

We drove to Dallas some days ago and hit a monster traffic jam.  As it finally resolved, we discovered the cause of it was an accident ... that wasn't even blocking traffic.  The jam was simply due to gawkers.

And so it is with foreign civil wars.  People love to gawk and CNN is right there with Gawker Heaven.  This has nothing to do with news and nothing to do with public service, let's see some explosions and dead people.  Failing that, we'll get Nancy the Graceless to bully someone who can't possibly respond.

So now there are lots of dead people in Ukraine and international diplomacy has done yet another job to secure its position as the most incompetent in decades.  The countries that settled the largest war the world has ever seen now can't even settle a gunfight in a Midwest cowtown.

My biggest problem with it is that discussion with my esteemed conservative colleague went very well as we observed the progress of this but that discussion broke down as I was homing in on just where the hell are the Nazis.  He fell into 'we have to stop the Russians' and 'RT News is just propaganda.'  Maybe that's so but saying it isn't the same as knowing it and I want to KNOW.

The only serious response to the question of Ukrainian Nazis was here on the blog.  Cool.  I'm still not satisfied with how much Nazi involvement exists in west Ukraine but, in my mind, there is no question it is a profound influence.  However, there is still the question of how much that influences their statecraft.  Russia claims the violence now is, in part, driven by Right Sector (i.e. Ukrainian Nazis).

I'm seeing more basis for truth in what I've been seeing coming from the Russian side than I have from what I've seen on CNN as it's better researched and more professionally presented whereas CNN just rolls out second-raters to give speeches and sound bites.  On this basis, I continue to believe the U.S. is dead wrong in pushing this.
