When the Nazis Show, the Conservatives Go

The situation is most unusual as there has been a discussion for some days with a conservative friend regarding Ukraine, most of which has been agreement.  For example in watching Crimea, the first thought was walk away as Russia has its only warm-water port there.  They won't let it go.  They didn't.  Neither of us had any problem with that and called it long before anyone else did.

Some days or weeks later, the media cronkites told us, hey, Ukraine let Crimea go.  Thanks for the tip.

In reviewing the rattling of sabers, the perception was largely the same:  stay cool with this, gents.  We've all seen "Crimson Tide" and "Hunt for Red October" and massing this much hardware is inherently dangerous, particularly when you have no intention of using it and Obama has no idea what he's doing anyway.

During the last week or so, my friend has been getting some war fever as in we've got to stop Putin.  I questioned why he is a problem when the U.S. does exactly the same thing (e.g. embedded military 'advisors,' huge build-up of troops and weapons, etc).  That didn't go anywhere and that was the last discussion.

There was some confusion in me over where the Nazis predominate in Ukraine and that resolved over the last few days to verify they're all or mostly in western Ukraine and any interest in independence by east Ukraine has nothing to do with that.

So I challenged people with why is the US supporting Nazis to the tune of some billions of dollars and why has the IMF just given Ukraine seventeen billion more.  Nazis have been holding marches in the streets of Lviv and I'm pretty sure they have done it in Kiev as well.  They're known and have been documented to be a substantial part (i.e. roughly 30%) of the rebel forces.

In the long history since WWII, about a third of west Ukraine has been pro-Nazi and the others have fought for Russia to push Germany back to its borders.  There is high evidence there was extermination of Jews in Ukraine and not much was done about it.  There was a continuing pro-Nazi tradition in the post-war years that became wrapped up in Ukrainian nationalism.

So why is this supported.

Radio silence.

I'm seeing any mention of Nazis in west Ukraine disappearing from news reporting on American channels.

Why?
