"The Hanging Tree" is a prime revolution song and the scene features a Howard Hughes epic with a revolution on the march. We're swinging more enthusiastic toward The Hunger Games now it's more than endless mindless killing because wasting the state, after all, doesn't count as mindless but rather it's self-defense.
The movie series seem to have been met with enormous approval which must show at least sympathetic thinking toward the idea of revolution. That's really not so surprising given the observed climate around the world.
Then we see the rollover for Hillary Clinton and ask where's the fuckin' revolution. Did all of them leave for summer camp at Camp Granada.
In the movies we see the inevitable consequence of an overbearing state empowered by a distant filthy rich elite which regards us only in terms of amusement potential versus expense. There was great evidence of the discontent on this and then it evaporated. Suddenly there was nothing left except grasping bureaucrats promising more of the same ... crazy shit from Republicans and Republican shit from Democrats. For some reason, the revolution rolled over for that.
(Ed: takes more than a song, I guess)
It looks like we need a song and a stick of fookin' gelignite.
Some Millennials did not turn into butter substitutes but I haven't asked what they will do about the election when there's no apparent choice. The nearest by platform is Jill Stein of the Green Party and she has presented an eloquent and graceful appearance which seemed to have been noticed whereas the party is usually ignored. Libertarians got some artificial attention but they offered nothing substantive and sank away quickly.
It was a demonic move for Democrats to become Republicans but it has been eminently successful because it leaves actual Republicans without a play except to get even more rabid than they already were and make parodies of themselves.
This happens because the crowd doesn't ask why Legolas never runs out of arrows. Throughout Lord of the Rings, he never ran out of arrows.
(Ed: is this the weakest metaphor yet regarding renewable resources?)
Not now that you have blown it, Ex-Straight Man.
The magical thinking which believes Legolas always has arrows is the same as expecting change without effecting it. There is more magical thinking in believing Clinton will be any different when you know already she won't. Any move is in favor of Republicans so it's become a matter of anthropology in wondering why they turned into a complacent herd willing to do that.
(Ed: gas in the contrails!)
Righty, right, mate. It's got to be that.
