Damn the Status Quo - Vote for Bernie Sanders

The status quo in America means maintaining the current course of malaise, mediocrity, and despair.  Anger seethes in people and so much so their minds become inoperative.  Some lock onto flashing-lights substitutes such as Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton who claim many things which any reasoning person can easily see will never happen.

Many take various positions regarding Bernie Sanders but no-one has said he is promising things he will not do.  Some may doubt his ability to deliver them but few, if any, doubt his determination to try.  Thus far, there hasn't been a reason to believe a word from any of the others.

There's not a reason to provide citations because you know already these things are true.  The ones who cling blindly to Trump or Clinton do it largely for the same reasons but neither involve any significant measure of discernment.  There's little one can say to them because they're interested in security and not information.  Giving them more information only makes them more insecure because they don't understand it and that drives them closer toward the poor solutions in Trump or Clinton.

(Bevis:  he just called Hillary Clinton poor!   Snicker, snicker.)

(Butthead:  yah, he did.  What a stupid jerk.  Clinton is rich like the Vatican Bank.)

(Bevis:  yeah, she has more money than God!)

(Butthead:  well, no, Bevis, not exactly.  No-one has more money than God.  That's why Donald Trump wants to get close to him.)

Example from Facebook:

He:  people have to work for whatever they get.

Me:  Donald Trump got a million dollars from his ol' daddy to get started.

He:  life is unfair.

Me:  ah, ok.  I'm following you now.  You have to work for whatever you get unless life is unfair and someone gives you a million dollars.

He:  no answer.

That writer has a good mind but he wastes it on simple platitudes and sophistry.  Lotho is more a Goldwater Republican so it's informative to talk to him but the Dark Side Republicans are impossible.  They're so full of anger and hatred no-one can get near them.  There's obviously deep sadness underneath the anger but no chance anyone can help when there's such a monstrous Pink Floydian Wall around them.

Those ones give us the most surreal irony of the election in their cacophonous demand to secure the status quo when this is precisely the source of their misery.  They use a magic Obama brush to blame anything bad on him and then they fly off into a Disneyland fantasy world in which statism is good.  Makes no sense whatseover since these are the same people who say a powerful Fed is bad.  See above about simple platitudes and sophistry.

Tell you what, Hayseed Harry.  If you're hungry, just eat a nuclear submarine.  Works the same with Tridents in the UK because David Cameron doesn't give a fuck either.  Because ... all together now ... life is unfair.

The vote from the Distant Northern Frontier was cautiously supportive of Bernie Sanders but that's not unusual thinking in questioning anyone's ability to overcome the corrupt advantage of hugely-corrupt candidates who milk the campaign for money rather than morality.  America once reveled in its ability to put upstarts out of nowhere into the White House and Abraham Lincoln came from a log cabin in Kentucky, right?

Bernie Sanders wasn't rich at birth and he isn't rich now.  The absence of profiteering in his career shows better than any speech he could make about his noble commitment.  From the beginning, Sanders is the only one who could take that honorable position while the others have fallen far short as they grovel for shekels in the most brazen possible ways.

America has the potential to restore pride and fairness in this country, both of which have been sorely lacking for many years, and Bernie Sanders is the one to do it.

Alan Fraser He tries to relate with his ghetto talk. How precious. Must be how things work in fantasyland. Maybe he saw that on TV.

..I call bullshit, typical of your self serving "quotes"
successful parent does not equate to successful son in the same way as hard working parent equates to hard working offspring.

Andy Fraser I believe he lives in the real world, glad you are so familiar with the fantasy version

Alan Fraser Here's yer privilege fantasy: the same people who say there is a different pay scale for men and women often say white privilege is false so apparently man privilege is real but white privilege is not.

Andy Fraser The moral of the story is you get nothing in life you don't work for, period. Privilege be damned, life is not fair.

Alan Fraser You do see this goes both directions at the same time, yes?

Trump's fat ol' Dad gave him a million bucks. I bet he worked hard for that, huh?

Andy Fraser Reread life's not fair, disparate effort equals disparate results. I was not given a million bucks nor do I expect it, work with what you are given, or roll over, it's an individual result. Above all LIFE is not fair, you have to put forth an effort to change your lot, minimal effort ,minimal results.

Andy Fraser I don't cry over others results I worry about my own. Trump got a better start in life than others? So what he didn't sit on that silver spoon and let life roll over him, bad example ,how about Paris Hilton, no wait she doubled her money also. Once again life is not fair, why do you expect it to be. Of a clutch of turtle eggs hatched on the beach they should all expect an equal result(survival) doesn't happen rates are in the single digits, why should man expect better than natural results.

Alan Fraser I'm not expecting anything and they amuse me with their antics plus it amuses me everyone else turned into preachers. Meanwhile, I play and there I know none of their words mean anything. There, you're right, you work or you don't get it. There are no life lessons in rich bitch dilettantes except it's funny to watch them whine like schoolgirls (e.g. Ted Cruz).

Alan Fraser Also, if there's no white privilege, how do you explain Kaley Cuoco does lip-sync karaoke like a white girl Milli Vanilli and they put her on the first page of CNN (cough).

I'm really great you're much better at wrenching than debating or you seriously would have starved in life. There's nothing really to address in what you have said as it seems you would teach something but there's no particular content. All I really see is a shitload of anger for no particular reason.

I don't see the anger, I just see reality. Your debating success is in your own mind, promoting a political philosophy with a continual history of failure could only be successful in your mind. The problem with socialism has always been "sooner or later you run out of other peoples money to spend".I really see no reason to argue you won't change my mind and vice versa ,the anger you see must be your own, when I look at your blog I see nothing but anger and argument by insult, not much in the way of substance.

I'm not trying to change minds but opening them is swell. You have a platitude about socialism up there but that's the closed mind since just about anything any government does is necessarily socialist. People were highly glad of those socialist snowplows a few days ago. When words become polarized and transmogrified into bizarre triggers in emotional reactions, it's not debate but war and discussion is impossible.

My mind can be changed and sometimes it goes my last on something is 'fair enough' and the other team takes the point. Lotho and I have gone into that sometimes and same with Kannafoot, both of whom are far to the right but often in surprising agreement.

You haven't seen much of the blog and that's a large part of why I have been reducing any political content. Of course it's insulting. Politicians insult each other, insult us, and make a spectacle of talking about whangers or schwantzes or some dumb ass thing. There's little substance in the reaction to the candidates because none of them amount to a even a squeaky fart from Goldwater or Eisenhower.

You know as well as I they're corrupt and you know what corrupted them. Sanders is straight of Serpico in which everyone around him is on the take.
