Instead of leaders, we see a poodle parade of liars, tramps, and thieves. Yes, that includes Clinton who is nothing more than a second-rate bureaucrat who shamelessly panders to the right wing which has caused all the problems in the first place.
As to specific causation, Harry Truman first sent military advisors to Vietnam somewhere around 1950. Dwight Eisenhower continued the policy by sending more, as did John Kennedy. Lyndon Johnson escalated Vietnam into a bloody war and Richard Nixon turned it into a bloodbath. That someone wears Democrat clothes in no way means the politician is a Democrat.
In that that same period, Salvador Allende was assassinated or committed suicide depending on who is reporting after the CIA-led coup against his legally-elected government (Eisenhower). Henry Kissinger was guiding it and, in one of America's greatest ironies, he was cast as a peacemaker. Che Guevara was assassinated in Bolivia, also by CIA-directed military forces (Johnson).
The stand-out characteristic of every military engagement of the post-WWII world has been a consistent campaign by America to destroy any left-wing government anywhere in the world. After the CIA assassinated Allende in Chile by proxy, Pinochet was introduced and brought with him a right-wing reign of terror which devastated the country. There is evidence the assassination of Guevara was with the assistance of Klaus Barbie, an escaped NAZI war criminal, and there is abundant evidence of CIA collaboration with NAZIs who escaped to South America.
People know nothing of the history as was shown, as yet unconfirmed, when Obama sent jets to Turkey to 'fight ISIS and deter Russian aggression.' See above about Truman being the original instigator of the Vietnam War. If Obama's action starts that process again, there is only one outcome and this one you won't be reading in newspapers or watching on TV. It will come as one blinding flash and the hypocrisy will be permanently silenced.
Washington likely has underground bunkers into which they hope to survive a nuclear war but it would be better for the world if they did not after having launched such a war, regardless of which side started it. There are no sides, there is only people who are treated like toys by politicians without faintest regard to the welfare of anyone.
Great White Sharks are the top predators in the ocean and there's an extraordinary elegance to creatures which may weigh up to three tons. Where Great White Sharks kill only out of need, the top predators now (i.e. the 1%) do it for money and amusement. The cost is the same: we all die.
