Pete Seeger is almost a walking folk tale of Americana but I had the privilege of hearing him play, along with his grandson, in Tiverton, Rhode Island. The concert was not in a grand hall even though Rhode Island has no shortage of such venues.
Pete Seeger played on the back porch of a building which had long before been a house. There was a large lawn and people sat there to listen on a fine Rhode Island Summer day with a beautifully clear and blue sky, large billowing white clouds, and a feeling of enveloping humanity in peace. This was only about ten years ago, it can't be so far gone as it sometimes seems.
