Smoking Pot is Like Playing Russian Roulette w/O'Reilly Rebuttal (video)

Bill O'Reilly has said some incredibly stupid things but he really went for the Big Prize with his latest.  Smoking a joint is like playing Russian Roulette.  The logic to this is obvious:  smoking a joint is the same as holding a loaded gun to your temple.  Not surprisingly, Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" flogged the stupidity of it.  (AlterNet: WATCH: The Daily Show Blasts Cable Anchors Over Unwarranted Legal Pot Hysteria)

Stewart has said it already but it's worth repeating that the idiocy of O'Reilly's position defies any possible logic.  Smoking a joint is apparently bad because it's like Russian Roulette which is definitely bad ... but no-one defends more strongly than Bill O'Reilly and Fox News the right to own guns and consequently play Russian Roulette so you can blow your idiot head right off your body.

In the face of something like that, my only answer to the creep is to smoke a joint and relax.  It's not going to make you crazy because, buddy, you already there.

In all of human history, marijuana has never killed anyone ... but it might.  We must be aware of the risks.  Think of your mother.

(Update:  consumption of marijuana has never killed anyone.  I'll find citations if you like but there are many.  I have no idea who is shooting whom in the drugs wars but I suspect the majority of it is over the narcotics trade.)

Thanks, Bill.  As always you're ahead of the prevailing scientific knowledge gleaned from thousands of years of experience.  In these times we need someone who just knows better as anything else is just, well, playing Russian Roulette.

Fair and Balanced Update:

Here's what Jon Stewart said that angered O'Reilly.  Link to the video page.  (It's quite amusing and worth the trip)

Just in case there's any doubt of Bill O'Reilly being a complete blazing moron, here's his rebuttal in which he has apparently forgotten the point of his original broadcast and finds a blonde bimbo to fail to substantiate what he is trying to say.  He gets paid millions for this!  Maybe there will be a follow-up show in which we will discover what point he may have been trying to make.
