Another Perfectly Good Illusion Shot All to Hell

"Waterworld" featured the stone coolest sailing vessel ever to take to the seas and a big part of the allure was the aerofoil.  A trimaran is an exceptional vessel anyway but that bizarro propulsion mechanism gave it the exceptional coolness.

Except it didn't (sob) work.

For a high-output wind turbine, the blades need to be stronger than carbon fiber and there's no material extant which can do it.

Splat, the illusion is all over the ground.

The principle is real and some guy, Darrieus, invented it in 1931 but, to this day, it's considered to have more disadvantages than merits.  (WIKI:  Darrieus wind turbine)

That was a perfectly good illusion too.  That's yer bona fide manweeper right there.
