"Locomotive Breath" - Jethro Tull (video) - AVI Sessions in Switzerland

AOR meant Album-Oriented Rock and Jethro Tull, with "Aqualung," was the first with this type of format.  Pink Floyd had done it earlier with Syd Barrett but their music was much more heady and difficult to approach for some.  For me, that has always been the best Floyd (e.g. "Echoes").

Update:  I'm wrong on that as it was David Gilmour already with "Echoes"

Don't underestimate the musicianship of either band and you will get a taste in this from the Swiss sessions.  The Piano Man is stylin' and I'm sure you will love his play and also his moves while he do it.  I don't think he is the original keyboard player but I'm not sure.  I hope that was Martin Barre on guitar because he goes all the way back.

And Ian Anderson ... well ... stand back

Lotho and I saw Jethro Tull in Louisville one night and were diggin' it so much, man, we had to see them again the next night in Cincinnati.  I remember being horrified at the time because the show on the second night was note-for-note identical with the show from the night before and so was the choreography, ever note, every step.

After bringing a wee bit more maturity to it, I knew they couldn't have done their sets any other way because of the incredibly tight integration.  If anyone had decided, hey, tonight we're a jam band ... well ... that would not have been a good idea.
