There is a major risk of self-righteousness but there's righteousness in all of us if we only set it free. I loathe standing like a preacher but I'm not standing for religion, I'm standing for the humanity in all of us because I know it's there but it's buried under so many things which I do not wish to address in this context.
My stand is with the greatest strengths I know, my writing and my music, and I feel the strongest duty I have ever known in my life to do this because I do know the history, I do study the people, and I have done this all my life. From those things I know all the more I must do this no matter what comes to me as I also know deep inside of that which will come if I and as many others as possible fail to stand.
Perhaps there's the thought of self-satisfaction but that's not even close because no matter what I do toward this, it will never be enough to satisfy me until I see that which I most fervently believe is possible if we unite toward it. That's my religion and it does not have a name, it does not need one. I have no doubt it serves them all, however, and with as much respect for all of them as I can muster.
