Poetic Justice from Smoke in Indonesia

Clearing of land in Indonesia has resulted in widespread destruction of wildlife habitat with the consequent loss of such rare and endangered animals as orangutans and many others.  There are obviously too many people in Indonesia or they wouldn't be destroying more habitat over and above that which they have used for centuries.

There was one little problem when they used their typical slash and burn approach to clearing wild land in that it caused so much it smoke it has, thus far, killed over one hundred thousand people.  (Washington Post:  Study estimates 100,000 deaths from Indonesia haze)

At present there are scientists studying the problem and considering what they might do but the first suggestion is how about teaching those Indonesians something about birth control.  That won't be necessary for the hundred thousand who are already dead, however (sob).

Jiggle your shuttle forward six months and the ones sounding so disconsolate now about smoked-out Indonesians will be wailing, my, oh my, what can be do about saving the orangutans in Indonesia.

How about we just take the soma and then every news story is a surprise.  That way no-one ever has to do anything.

Most of my life I was contributing to World Wildlife Federation but I should have been sending my money to Planned Parenthood in Indonesia and then maybe the orangs would have had a chance.
