Most Ridiculous Ganja Story of the Day

Kid gets pulled over and three Arizona cops bust this nineteen-year-old for about a gram of the ganja, maybe one joint.  They have the kid cold but they give him the choice of eating the reefer and driving on home.  That's when things got weird.  (RT:  Munch the evidence: 3 police officers resign after forcing motorist to eat marijuana)

Dunno about you, Gonzo Ganja Man, but I'm hearing they will even let me drive home for yet another violation of law so I'm gobbling the ganja as fast as I can stuff it in me gullet and I'm getting the hell out of there.

Oh, no.  That's not what happened.

The li'l snowflake copped a tiff over it and now three cops have resigned along with demotion of their lieutenant.  It seems the li'l snowflake said 'they forced me' and s/he got sick.

You got sick from gobbling a joint of the ganja?

We're going to need some Tennessee bullfrogs to call bullshit on that one.

Seems to me the flatfoots had three options:

-  they can bust the kid and take him down to the jailhouse.  That's a big pain in the ass for everyone just to bust some pissant with a gram of reefer.

-  they can't let the kid go because, in their eyes, then the coppers are breaking the law by permitting the reefer.

-  if the kid eats it then everyone comes out golden.

Here at the Rockhouse we have no great love of cops but this one was crap.  Three lost their jobs over it??  wtf???

Kid gets rich with the ensuing lawsuit

This stoner thinks the story sucks bad. He should have let it go.

He should not. So an underage smoker is forced to eat the cigarettes. Or the kid with beer is forced to drink it all.
The are cops. The are supposed to protect people and enforce tbe laws. There is a separate division for punishment of the guilty.

When cops aren't prosecuted for much of anything, making a big deal out of this only makes Arizona even more absurd.

They just charged another with first degree manslaughter for pulling the trigger to quickly
It is not absurd. Cops need to understand thier true role. Being a bully isnt it

It never is but I really don't this kid's life wrecked by it and there are much bigger problems. When three cops lose their jobs over this and not for various other flagrant problems then something is way out of whack.

I agree the kid will be fine. That does not allow the police to react they way thst they do.
I can give you hundreds of these types of stories from the people in rehab. Throw out 90% for hyperbole and you still have a culture not an isolated incident

Maybe I'm thinking at least they didn't shoot him. There are so many abuses of power I withdraw more and more from a world which isn't even trying to make sense. Martinet is a peach of a word to describe how cops are but it seems never-ending.
