No-One Wants the America the GOP Made

Birth Rates for Americans by Race from 1980 - 2013

For almost all races, the birth rate has been declining steadily since the Reagan years or look at it the other way around and things have been going down ever since the Clinton years but politically there wasn't much difference between them so it doesn't matter either way, the late Eighties period is when it started.

There are only two measures which did not go into substantial decline since Asian people have maintained a generally consistent birth rate while the rate for whites even increased for a period but it drops with the others now although not as dramatically.

The most standout measure is only Hispanics have a birth rate high enough to sustain their population and that's even after a precipitous drop in birth rate overall.  Meanwhile, American Indians have almost no chance.

The American population can only increase by immigration but there's so much radio noise on relative percentages of legal vs illegal that there was nothing worth quoting.  There are many pushing agendas on the subject but facts are less obvious.  In any case, the population can only increase through immigration since no racial group of Americans is even replacing itself except barely with Hispanics.

The biggest surprise in the reading just now is the largest growing group of immigrants isn't Hispanic but rather Asian.  Donald Trump can build his ridiculous wall if he likes but it looks like he will need pontoons for it.

The single most striking thing about the chart is almost unanimously across the races there is substantial indication Americans don't want to raise children here.

Great job, GOP.  You won the land and lost the country.  Clever.
