SUV from the Forties

That's what today's SUVs (i.e. station wagons) would look like back then and so much cooler with wood panels, wouldn't you say.

The thirties to the fifties gave us the most incredible variety of vehicles and one more just because it's so damn weird.  I first saw one in Australia as a kid and thought, whoa, this is seriously cool.

Today there is a clear mandate that form follows function and most of the cars and trucks look generally the same but there were no limits back then.  For them, function follows form which made many of those cars death traps but they were soooo cool for the wild creativity of them.  Dig that silly trailer!
