Sure it's corny but tell me that again after you watch him react. These little hoodlums tried him in every way they could manage and this is what came.
It breaks me up today as much as it did then and today we need Sidney Poitier and Sir more than ever because of the steadfast refusal of people to learn anything except memes and catcalls.
The full version of the song as it really was Lulu singing it in the movie.

Something happens in the world which breaks my heart and the reaction to it is even worse and breaks my heart into tiny disassociated pieces. Always it comes from people who refuse to learn anything. I'm not trying to teach anyone but I do expect people to teach themselves and that steadfast refusal is one of the biggest heartbreaks of the age.

Brings back a lot of memories. I remember when that movie came out, the kids at my high school said you look like that LuLu girl...and I did!! But the message is not lost. You spoke recently of your neighbors across the street looking like real badasses..you found out thaey are really good people. I agree with Kannafoot too! ML
I've no doubt you did. Like the man sang one time, "I remember when she could stop a clock!"
These days we're not so much concerned about stopping clocks but keeping them running! (larfs)
