Well, I tell you ... it's in shipping and is projected to arrive Monday week (i.e. 23rd). Apologies in advance for any whining which will come as things go flat financially in a relatively short time but the music will come in a little over a week. I'm sure the price was the best I was likely to find as the stalking has gone for some time. The device is reputed to be in near-perfect condition and the PayPal Buyer Guarantee will come into it if it is not. If there is an issue with it, the matter will first go to the seller who has an excellent rating and, failing that, on to the PayPal court.
I gave high confidence my loops which were captured from the failing RC-50 I have now can be downloaded without loss or conversion to the newer one. For those considering a Boss RC-300, the newer version of the Boss RC-50, you may find this useful to observe for your own recovery. As always, use that USB connection to the computer to back up your loops. I had failed to do that regularly and almost got stung in one huge way. There are twenty loops, perhaps more, on the failing Boss RC-50, all of which I used at varying intervals in live performances. They were captured so that's all good and the old RC-50 can now die in peace although I will make every effort not to accompany it.
The Boss RC-300 was further reviewed during the course of this and was rejected due to expense but it is a demonstrably better unit with one huge and obvious difference in its provision of three hours of recording time. If that's three hours of stereo recording then it can be doubled by switching to monophonic. For my purposes (i.e. live), I hardly ever have need nor interest for stereo in the recording of the loop.
As to ability to play anything, there has been assiduous attention to diet which has improved strength which may have been at an all-time low. There is no need for the detail on the basis for that as the only significant aspect in this context is that improves. That will continue so, hopefully, by the time the looper arrives, I will be in shape to use it.
