Drama Queens Try to Work the Weather Beat in Fort Worth

The drama queens are men (cough) and women who were showing all the reasons they never made it in Hollywood as the described the hell which would come down on Tarrant County (i.e. includes Fort Worth) last evening.  My response to Yevette, who was becoming a tad unnerved by it, was, "Girl, this is crap and I do monitor it.  I've lived in tornado country a lot too."

It's not an exaggeration as it was outrageous how much they overplayed their concern as if they were reading for parts in some grade "B" movie.

There was reason for worry in Amarillo, about 350 miles northwest of here, and quite a bit for Oklahoma but it was way (cough) overblown for Fort Worth.    A Halliburton plant in the Amarillo area was reported to have been flattened by a tornado but apparently no loss of life.

What do you know, nothing happened in Fort Worth and a storm should land here any time now but it's as has been predicted throughout, heavy rain and high winds.  A tornado warning can pop out of anything but there's no indication of it at this time and the existing warning expired a few minutes ago.

Note:  I've been in a tornado zone and have seen multiple tornadoes since I was sixteen but I still can't for the life of me remember whether the warning is watch out for a live one or if the watch is really the watch or ... wtf ... unknown.  If I see a funnel, there's a tornado coming.

Update from three hours after the above was written:

It got highly blowy and lots of noise.  The power went down and I did not know it until the battery backup started beeping.  There's more coming but not just now.  Still no expectation of tornadoes, tho.
