- Some weird force of nature must be pushing up the hits to Ithaka since I threw out the politics to let the blog present more what I want in it and reads by visitors tripled in three days but What's Hot doesn't give you (or me) any strong idea what does it. -

Jeff - this guy has had so many hits in a year or so but it's more likely the visits are for Diane Kruger and the bit is a Silas anti-smoking banner for Marlboro featuring the exceptionally beautiful Kruger

Going Mechano - think about making a Charlie the Tuna drone and, presto, BioSwimmer

The Chimp - it's a bit of novelty about watching a chimp intently studying something in the Cincinnati Zoo ... until I noticed something me

Steven Wright - as dry as a comedian ever gets and Lewis Black brings great affect to his act while Steve Wright because zero and has been making the Rockhouse laugh for years

ExoMars - a great success today for the ESA space program with a successful landing on Mars and that article is accompanied by some interesting science about other unusual achievements in space regarding Eta Carinae and also Pluto

Three Rogue - a story I have presented at infrequent intervals since it's a favorite tale about some Cincinnati scofflaws (i.e. the Silas and some partners in crime)

Deep Damage - it goes to much more than simple hurt feelings, far deeper

There Were Spiders - odd things happen from time to time and finding spiders in a relatively-fresh loaf of bread qualifies easily for the roster of odd (hopefully amusing)

How to Make - coin collections are usually about as interesting to hearing of someone's dental history but these ones were Roman ... found in Japan

Latest - there wasn't exactly a breakthrough but Mystery Lady wanted the information and this was the fastest way to deliver it along with an update on the personal consequences of blowing ganja (NOT a morality play)
