"Face" - Billy Crystal (video)

Maybe no-one ever put the story of blues and jazz into words any better than this.

He has been charged with racism for this but I never heard that charge against him by any black man. He stood up to speak at the funeral of Muhammad Ali so I see no evidence anyone thought he was a racist, sure as hell not The Champ.

All I hear in it is love and he knew the jazz musicians so well going back to when he was a five-year-old boy whose family had not so much money back in New York City.

This is so beautiful it almost elicits tears every single time going back to when I heard him break out the bit.  Wait for it at the end.  Just wait for it.

I loved you madly.

Can you dig it, Face?

I knew that you could.

- Billy Crystal

I defy you to find any racism in the man.  Feel the love.

If you can listen to this without getting misty, well ... you won't.
