Talking About Commitment to Music is One Thing But Vallery Barbin Lives It

Perhaps you know Noma Falta, the Once and Future Queen of Blues in Second Life.  There may be other contenders and I will be happy to post as I hear of them but Vallery as Noma I've known for some while and attended multiple shows.

Here's a picture of her ... from about thirty years ago!

She doesn't need to call herself the musician's musician but I will and with huge respect for a musician who has lived the word and the music of it through most of her life.  We assume there was a time when she was too tiny to lift one.  She's an excellent singer plus she has the moves on guitar and bass.  She's a young woman here but she's already on-stage with her music and has been there ever since.

Her talent isn't only music because she has the need to create and she paints, sometimes in a self-portrait which reminds for all the world of Madeline, a young lady who appeared in multiple books and movies a long time ago.

The style of the original Madeline is not the same as in Vallery's work but her images strike very much the same feeling.  You see the inquisitiveness in her and that's exactly why the feeling.

Note:  use of her name may appear to violate the Search for Ithaka rules but I specifically asked for a positive confirmation before I would use her name publicly.  We don't accept Facebook policies in any way regarding this matter and it's important to us.

I love being a fan when there are so few I regard as worthy of it and not just for me but for anyone.  I do have a bit of reticence when writing of female artists because my enthusiasm has relatively few limits in being a fan and it may seem I pitch an implicit woo.  The reality is my goods are supremely damaged but I can tell you she is a highly-attractive woman in appearance and in spirit, then and now.  I'm proud she is my friend.

Oh, and one more.  I enjoy considering genetics and commented when I discovered my father's Genetics survey book for beginners after many years.  It turns out Vallery taught genetics for nine years.  If you haven't seen it already, I'll say again as she's an extraordinary woman.  There's talking about feminism and then there's making it happen yourself.  Immense respect.
