"Crystal Ship EQ" is now on the Ride the Dragon podcast (free). The recording is from over twenty years ago and has been sweetened as much as possible to bring out Mystery Lady's voice. There is also a bit of riffing, not much, from Silas on that beautiful jet-black Ovation and with zero effects. (That are effects overall but not on the guitar)
I may have pushed it a bit much and it's conceivable I will revisit after listening for a while but the balance of Mystery Lady's voice to the other instruments is much more satisfactory to my liking. Even pushing to high volume in the headphones was definitely satisfactory with minor reservations.
She fookin' kills this song! Makes me proud to have helped her do it.
Her approach to it as a love song is perfect because that makes her the ultimate Siren and that's because the Crystal Ship was loaded with speed. That she calls you beguiles you to accept and believe that love. It's actually a fiendish song but a true thing which she delivers in unique way.
It's another approach to "Woman in the Snow" and she could so much have knocked that song out of the world. That's a gee whiz thing but it brings a smile nevertheless.
