"Burn It To the Ground" - Nickelback (video)

The best current example of straight-up rock with zero poser bullshit.  In the 'modern' world, they are often reviled but, judging by their success, not many pay attention to that judgment.  Maybe it's some kind of fashion to trash them or maybe not.  Hardly an interesting thing why they do it.

Why would I not love these guys as it looks much like Kroeger is playing a Godin xtSA.  If it's not then it's an identical twin, even to the finish on the body.

More and more there's a loathing building for soloists except for the very best and one of my favorite examples of that is Voodoo Shilton.  His use of technology never overwhelms the music and, in my view, that's what separates the amateurs (e.g. karaoke singers) from the professionals.

There's a huge wave of chick soloists (including Bieber) today and all sound much the same.  That's the biggest reason for the revulsion for soloists.  It was cool when Streisand did it but do you hear a Streisand in the game now.  Frankly, I don't.

Guitarists are guilty of it as well and the typical charge is endless jerk-off lead over a looper.  Guilty as charged but I like to think it's a wee bit more than jerking off.  Maybe that thought is the jerking off part, I dunno (larfs).

Update:  Blogger is egregiously stupid.  The video was included in the edit prior to posting it but Google in its charming and unpredictable whimsy threw it away.  Of any online software I use, it's by far the buggiest.
