It's Just Another Pentagon Snipe Hunt and Thank You, Donald Trump

The chemical incident in Idlib province blamed on Damascus was a “100 percent fabrication” as the Syrian military has already dismantled chemical weapons stockpiles, President Bashar Assad told AFP.

“Definitely, 100 percent for us, it's fabrication... Our impression is that the West, mainly the United States, is hand-in-glove with the terrorists,” President Assad told the French news agency in his first interview since the retaliatory US missile strike on a Syrian airbase in Shayrat.

“They fabricated the whole story in order to have a pretext for the attack,” he said.

RT:  Assad: Idlib attack 100% fabricated, Syria destroyed all chemical weapons

Some say I'm too gullible about RT which is to ask, "Why do you believe their bullshit propaganda?"

The situation is I have two options:

1)  I see the unsubstantiated claims of the use of chemical weapons in the Inlib slaughter and I can accept those on blind faith

2)  I can go with common sense and scientific method that nothing is fact without validation

When there are only two options, logic must decide which is valid.  In defense of the first option is the pack of WMD Kings in the Pentagon where they swore up and down Iraq was loaded with them.  Based on that along with their history of other such snipe hunts, I see no informational value in much of anything the Pentagon says.

The theory on the chemical weapons has about the same level of validation as the charges of Russian hacking since there's been none at all.  Therefore, common sense says the second option is the correct one.

Some scream, "I can't believe you don't believe the military on this!"

But that's not the situation.  It's not that I disbelieve the military on this single thing but rather the military has never given me a reason to believe anything they have said.  The military has been lying to me ever since the Gulf of Tonkin Incident in the early Sixties which resulted in LBJ's escalation of combat in Vietnam and he's the sole owner of that war.  That bastard started it.  That single act meant I later got drafted and that fucked-up my life in gigantic ways so, hell, no, I ain't forgettin'.

Ed:  Democrats started Vietnam?

They can bob and weave all they like but read about the Gulf of Tonkin Incident and you will find there's no reason to believe the Demo dancers.  President "War on Poverty" LBJ apparently fancied bloodbath wars even more.

Ed:  he was a victim of the Huns in the CIA!

LBJ was a victim or he had balls to resist.  Your call.

If it walks like a duck talks like a duck looks like a duck.
If he had not have done this before. I might need more evidence.
If only the US was the source O might need more evidence.
I suppose the evidence was an elaborate hoax to have Trump react and look like a fool but why go to all that effort. He does that daily If the comics loved Bush 2 that are wetting themselves over the idea of 4 years of Trump.
I decided to divest myself of all investments are live like there is no tomorrow because with a rogue like Trump today might be our last.
Xi Trump Putin and Long Dong wanna be from Korea we are screwed.

I believe you are right in demanding an independent investigation regarding conflicting stories based on divergent frames of reference. I believe there is such an ongoing investigation by the international community regarding this incident. However, no one can bring back the innocent children and adult civilians that were murdered.

Based on video of the incident and previous acts, it is difficult to believe that the Assad government is innocent. This is my frame of reference. Asad has admitted having chemical weapons in the past. Previous investigations have shown he has used chemical weapons against innocent civilian populations in the past. There is currently little support for the Assad government by its civilians or world governments except for Russia and Iran. Hopefully, a peaceful resolution can be achieved, but it appears only with Assad's departure.

LBJ is not the sole owner of the Vietnam War. He did start it and expand it during his 5 years in office. However, Nixon who promised 'Peace with Honor' allowed it to continue during his 6 years in office. The need for more soldiers and the unpopularity of the war resulted in the necessity of the lottery system, under Nixon in December 1969. This was the first time since WWII a random lottery system had been needed. This ultimately entangled you and countless others with low numbers, who had chanted 'Hell No, I Won't Go' , in a continuaton of a war few supported. Nixon expanded the war into Cambodia with the support of his unwilling draftees in the spring of 1970. This caused numerous protests in the U.S. including the infamous Kent State University murder of innocent students.

This could have completely been avoided had Nixon stopped the war as he promised. Instead, over 21,000 additional American lives and hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese were lost. So many others like yourself were permanently scarred. Instead Nixon became entangled in his own web of lies and felonious behavior that resulted in Watergate. His attention and the American people's became focused on his needless desire to rig the election of 1972. He authorized a burglary of the Democratic National Headquarters. Meanwhile, the slaughter in Vietnam continued with little action on his part to stop it.

The war effectively came to an end after Nixon became the first and only President of the United States to resign. This was only because he had so little support of his own party that he was certain to be impeached. Ironically, not because of the mishandling of the war but because of Watergate. However, Congress voted to no longer provide funds for the war. This was because the American people finally said they would not elect politicians that voted to pay for it. This is why the U.S. offered little resistance when the North Vietnamese overthrew the South Vietnam puppet government in this month, April 30, 1975. Subsequent years required the American people to pay for the cost of the war by increased taxes, economic inflation and recession. I expect the wars and conflicts in the Middle East will finally end when the American people refuse to pay for them. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be on the horizon.

The only purpose is to continue their war because it's a cash cow and it solidifies votes for conservatives.

America says whatever it likes and anywhere else in the world is lying should anywhere refute it. We have seen too many hoaxes to accept anything without independent validation. In effect, America is the only frame of reference from their perspective.

As the firestarter, I'll keep that tag of owner for LBJ and there were 34,000 Nixon didn't get killed who died on LBJ's watch. I agree there would have been no problem for me if Nixon had done the right thing and the loathing for him is undiminished. However, it really shamed me in a different way to discover what LBJ did.

That felt like as much of a betrayal as when Obama reneged on stopping the wars and only made more.

Based on the history, I need to insist on independent validation.
