Enough Politics, How About Something Weird

My friend posted a pic of a similar vehicle and I thought this can't possibly be real but what if it is.  That set off the OCD to find out for sure.

The best search turned out to be for a 1957 Buick Coe delivery fan but check out the nameplate on the car ... it's a Cadillac.  That got enough of a helping of weird to see it's probably not some kind of twisted L.A. custom but rather an actual production vehicle.

That led to admiration for the wild ranges of styles in vehicles in the thirties through the fifties or so.  We were struck by the variety when cars are highly-limited today since there are four basic shapes which cover most of them:  pick-up trucks, station wagons (i.e. SUVs), vans, and compact cars, all of which look generally the same.  There's the class of ultra machines but those cars carry many similarities as well.  So that's boring but those earlier times, few of which I actually saw, were filled with every kind of crazy vehicle you can imagine ... and they were in full production.

This vehicle intrigues because it's somewhat similar to a Mercedes Sprinter van.  It's lacking the height but it's definitely a tall vehicle and the carrying capacity would have been enormous.  Check out the rear views, tho.  Just tear them off and throw them away to put ones with some decent size to them.  The motor almost certainly is not a diesel and that would be a killer but, otherwise, this vehicle would have been a peach of a find even in the Sprinter search in 2009.

I'm starting a Go Fund Me page as I don't think I'll be able to sell enough Mary Kay cosmetic products to get one of these. UH! UH!
