Bill and Ted said to 'be excellent' but my typical composure is to be despicable to myself and particularly my music, largely with the thinking I have to be more evil with it that any critic may be. As always, those who can will play and the others become critics ... or fans. Likely fans are critics as well but they're not so likely to be mean about it. Welcome to any who wish to be one.
It's not likely I will ever love my music except while I am doing it but I'm not sure that's such a terrible thing but hating my own music might be just a wee bit extreme.
While I decry lack of courage in leaders, it's not particularly courageous to put my music online as video or audio alone and then run away from it. There's no way to count the number of times I've presented a video on Facebook ... and then buried it under a mountain of trivial news from Fark ... because it's funny, don'tcha know.
The Fark bites can be funny but it's not so funny how I use them. I have my own dragons chasing me, as do we all, and the presentation of videos now, interspersed between the various commentaries, is the best I can do with them because, even now, they still get buried under mountains of rubbish on Facebook ... and by my own hand.
Every word I have written as a critic regarding other musicians in Second Life has been true and as fair as I could resolve to be but it's not something I really want because any word I write is one less note I play. For the moment, it's difficult to play so I write quite a bit but strength is growing and I will play again. The potential for writing as a music critic is not high and for just the reason I have written ... play it or sit down (larfs).
Herewith, another one but, first, if it pleases you to do it, my YouTube channel is PeasInOurThyme and your subscriptions (no charge) are most welcome. No-one is more critical of that idiot name than I and it could not possibly cost anyone more than I to have changed it from Silas Scarborough.
This is one of my favorites about the road: "On the Road with a Mouse and a Chicken"

Note: the lasers are not an add-on effect I slapped into it in Final Cut. There really were lasers on my fingers and it's not as easy as it looks. Imagine playing a guitar with biker gloves (i.e. glove finger tips removed).
All of the ones I prefer go directly toward the Annihilation of Self as written previously. For my taste, it's not enough to hide myself behind a cartoon avatar as that simply replaces one self with another and still comes out the same.
