Over about the last month I've been watching some kids as they built up an old storefront next to Belly Bust and turned it into Bike Craft. As with the story in a subsequent article about the girl in the market, this is another of how Scots really are. You can see from their Web site that the kids have talent and they're not part of some huge franchise. These are independents making it happen on their own and I'm sure of this as I saw them do it. (Bike Craft Edinburgh)
Bike Craft is located at 40 Ferry Road in Leith which is part of Edinburgh. Perhaps local politicians would object to calling it part of Edinburgh but there's no division between the cities.
You can see from their Web site what they offer but that doesn't show how they did it all themselves. They did the carpentry to build it out, the painting, and everything else that was needed to make a store out of practically nothing. They're just kids but they really love bicycles.
I would get you a picture but they're closed today. Maybe I should go in there next time and find out more about them.
