"Once Upon A Time In The West" | Harmony Highway | Originally by Ennio Morricone

Meet the Enchantress

The song comes from "Once Upon a Time in the West" although it's more fashionable to call it the eponymously-named movie.  A good many say it's the best western movie ever made.

There are no actual lyrics as the song was always one of enchantment.  It carries a message which is deeply sad but with some kind of calm resolve and there's a mystical vibe throughout.  People sometimes call that haunting but that's got a slightly negative vibe and I don't feel that from the song.

Here's another version with much more elaborate orchestration and it features Claudia Couwenbergh, yet another Enchantress.

There's some kind of sadness but it's compelling at the same time.  Morricone is a dream weaver.

Ennio Morricone did the soundtrack for "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" as well.
