Boeing 377 Stratocruiser Clipper (video)

Pan Am promo video and it's slow with lots of history but it also shows features of the aircraft you may not believe.  With some selective jumping through it, you can see the luxury of this aircraft and they built it in about 1947.  Apparently the engines sucked and were unreliable but they still logged many, many miles of deluxe transportation.  Regardless of the engines, they were going to be wiped out by jet airlines anyway and, maybe ironically, the Boeing 707 was one of the first to do it.

You have to find your way to the near the end for the super deluxe stuff with the bunks and the seven-course meals.  Jet aircraft had no room for such piffle so all that luxury went out the window until maybe the best example today in the Airbus A380.

You may be surprised as the aircraft had a full galley and who ever saw such a thing.
