CCPD is the Crime Control and Prevention District for Fort Worth, Texas, and it is funded by a .5% increase in sales tax and it is spent, ostensibly, to fund anti-drug programs and anti-gang activity. Their specific purpose is saturation and there are more cop cars in this town than Kellogg's has Corn Flakes. The B&W cruisers are the CCPD-funded and the following behavior is typical.
The CCPD funding is over and above the basic taxes to fund cops in any city.
In effect, we are paying for cops to harass us every time we buy a gallon of milk. One example is when I bought some milk at QuickTrip at one or two in the morning and was pulled over for an improper exit from the store. Here at the Rockhouse, we do not know how it is even possible to improperly exit a convenience store parking lot unless you hit something along the way. It was obvious harassment without cause.
In fact, the insurance on the car was overdue but there was no possible way the cop could have known that before he pulled me over. As in the following example, he was looking for an excuse to search the car.
The most recent example is the cop harassing the Texas Tallboy after using a traffic stop to justify searching his car. After the Texas Tallboy consented to the search, the cop let him go. In other words, the cop didn't care about his phony charge regarding the traffic stop because he had failed to reveal a drug gangster or whatever other idiot delusion preoccupied him.
Furthermore, we are paying cops to steal insofar as civil forfeiture is in clear violation of the RICO Act (i.e. prevention of organized crime) because they will take your money without any probable cause except some fantasy about what you may do with it. After that seizure, the money is spent at the discretion (i.e. none at all) of the police department. There is almost no chance of getting the money back without spending an enormous amount of money on legal fees and all entirely based on some cowboy fantasy of a nitwit cop.
Barring substantial evidence to the contrary and considerably more than some cop getting a cat out of a tree in Wyoming to disprove any contention they are nothing more than gangsters who are more violent than the Mafia ever was.
