Boss RC-50 Looper Data Extraction 100% Successful and Verified

Forty-seven of my loops recorded on the Boss RC-50 looper were successfully extracted to the Desktop from where I can do whatever I like with them.

This is an enormous relief as "The End of the World in Fort Worth" is definitely not dead.

Phase I was to bring up the RC-50 to discover whether it would even start

Phase II was to copy the contents up to the Desktop

Phase III goes two ways

Phase IIIa the ideal is to somehow get my hands on a used RC-50 on eBay and it may be possible
Phase IIIb the alternative is to convert the WAV files to AIFF and load them into GarageBand

Phase IV is to finally record that song!

(Ed:  why not Logic?)

Sure it's better and I've got a valid license but it's more hassle than I need to do what I need to accomplish.

Loading the loops to GarageBand is adequate but using it for recording leads to a studio-ish vibe because whatever structure I build is set and cannot be altered in real-time.  Even if I do not change phrases in the course of a song, with the RC-50 looper, I can.  That gives me huge freedom because I can play multiple instruments into it in real-time whereas each has to be stacked, one after the other in the standard multi-track manner.  For me, the latter is more constraining than I wish to entertain.

So, the pursuit now is after Phase IIIa - got to find me another one somehow.

Phase IIIa doesn't bother me as it will happen somehow.  There are sunbeams flying all around the Rockhouse just now because the data captured and it is completely owned.  Whammo ... no whammies.

Note:  there is a newer version of the Boss RC-50 but that is not my interest.  I will specifically be pursuing the RC-50 because it is a perfect match for the loops and I only need download them.  Due to the way they are named, they will drop back exactly to the positions in which I made for them on the RC-50.

The additional reason for the RC-50 is that any available may be new quality because they are selling off inventory to focus on the newer model.  The new one has been out for a while but it appears the ones on eBay are in new condition.  That needs to be verified but it appears to be true.  Given they are half the cost of the newer model, hell yes I will pursue one.  The functionality of the older one isn't so far different it will break my heart not to have the new one.
