"Art of Life" - X Japan (video)

Beginning with the stunning musicianship of Yoshiki on piano and he is also X Japan's drummer where he also shows fantastic skills to the point of surrealism.  The entire band may well have the most capable musicians in any band which ever walked the Earth.  X Japan is the kind of band which makes me eternally grateful I love music so much and it moves me so much.

This one runs quite a bit longer than their new release, "Born to Be Free," and shows every kind of magic you could ever hope to find in music.

Just heal me, he sings.  Always they go to the absolute limit of their phenomenal abilities, never holding back so much as a small fraction of their energy.

Bands dream of getting so tight and that's when all the musicians come down on the beat with such precision it makes all the others weep.

Hopefully this is the final death of grunge as any kind of a musical form.  If it's not clean then it also wastes my time.  No matter how much power X Japan brings to the show and they damn sure bring a lot of it, it's always with total immaculation of sound.

One of my biggest regrets was not being able to attend X Japan's show in New York City last year as that would have been prime privilege.

For this band, we are not worthy, we are not worthy.

Fanboy?  Hell yes I'm a fanboy, an old one but a fanboy nevertheless and I love having the excitement for new music from them.

I won't use headphones for much but they're belting for this and I know it's destructive but I don't fucking care.  Let it rip as hard as you can throw it.  I long for music of this power and quality.
