"Where Have All the Flowers Gone" - Pete Seeger (video)

If you're going for some nostalgia, go for the whole bucket.  Sure those soldiers are flowers.  They're children and they have no idea where they're going.  Only the generals know and they hardly ever go with them.

There was a time in Tiverton, Rhode Island, when I had the privilege of seeing / hearing Pete Seeger play and his grandson and friends were performing with him.  This was on the porch behind the Tiverton City Hall and there were flowers sitting around him all over on a large lawn.  I apologize to you and to me that I do not have pictures since I would like to see that again.

Sometimes America is in a Soda Fountain and sometimes it's sitting around on the grass listening to Pete Seeger.  It's not gone and it didn't really change, you have to look for it now just as then.

I don't want to spend too much time thinking about lost flowers because I will but I don't lose all sight of the flowers who don't have to be lost now and every single one of the flowers who are gone did it so today's flowers would be ok.  Our job is simple.  We only need to listen.

If I lose sight of the flowers now the other choice is to spend the night weeping for what we've lost and I won't.  There's been so much weeping already.
