CNN ran an article yesterday asking whether the Democrats can pull votes from the evangelicals. We did not read the article because there is nothing worse the Democrats could do for the party other than to be seen saluting a foreign flag.
There is nothing partisan in this since they have destroyed the Republican Party and the same thing is inevitable with Democrats if they start pandering to them too.
As to the destruction of the GOP, the representatives from the Grand Old Party are Eisenhower and Goldwater. The contrast is in Mike Huckabee and his crackwhore pandering to a blazing moron of an evangelical in Kentucky because she refused to honor gay marriage. From Goldwater to that rubbish is what the evangelicals did to the GOP.
They will do precisely the same thing to the Democrats because their purpose is to use politics as a vehicle and the way they use it is irrelevant to them. As an example of the Christian morality, we have the Duggars who have never really accomplished anything except to make more Duggars, all the while preaching bare-faced fundamentalism. We saw the efficacy of their ways in how their first-born, Josh Duggar, wasn't possessed of the faintest hint of morality and he had made two or three babies before he had any kind of a job. However, that job was being another evangelical face for Mike Huckabee and meanwhile Duggar was running to all the porno sites and affair sites while his wife was at home trusting him. No-one needs that kind of morality or the kinds of people who pander to such egregious insensitivity and lack of knowledge.
Repeating, this is not partisan because the thrust of this is the damage evangelicals do and this has nothing to do with support for the actual Republican platform which has almost nothing to do with what any of the Tea People want. That same transmogrification of the Democratic Party would come if they permit and the result is of grave consequence to America as any linkage between anyone smarter than a car bumper and Washington will be largely eliminated.
Almost everyone I know has religious conviction and none of them are trivial about it, they also do not preach. If they did, I would have nothing to do with them. I will listen to conversation but I will not suffer pedantry and neither should anyone. In other words, none of them are Tea People. Some are conservatives but they think and that specifically separates them from Tea People.
The evangelicals don't need wimps no matter how much they may think so. Their greatest hope is with those who really do admire freedom because we're the only ones who won't turn around later to put thumbscrews down on them as to behavior, etc, etc. We don't care what you believe, we just don't want it on our doorsteps.
Bernie Sanders loves freedom whereas all the other candidates love money. The Oral Roberts gospel of prosperity is disgracing Washington in previously unimaginable ways. Cadillac Man and I were talking about this yesterday and it frequently comes up with real conservatives as to how you stop the Super PACs and the massive corruption which comes with them.
There's only one way I know: blow them off altogether and choose Sanders, thus proving the money does not override conscience. We see it does with all the other candidates but no-one sees any question of it with Sanders. Some may disagree with the practicality of his position but none can question his principles.
