Trump Won't Send You to College But Reefer Sales Will

DENVER (CBS4)– Marijuana is a $1.3 billion industry in Colorado and the taxes are helping fund college.

Pueblo County is one area that benefits from marijuana tax money. Now it will do something that’s a first: begin distributing pot-funded scholarships to college students.

CBS:  Pot Sales Help Send Students To College

The more Trump's policies fail and / go off to states rights Never Never Land, the more Trump starts more conflicts.

However ...

Ganja never starts conflicts; it's always reliable; it's paying the freight.

Let's throw this at Betty DeVos and ask her about her idiotic idea of 'thinking outside the box' but better to just keep walking since anyone who uses an expression like that will never actually do it when they boxed their own minds in the first place.  They won't come out but Colorado did and the comedy part is when the protoplasmic hilarity masquerading as an Attorney General tries to shut it down.

We can't even image the laffs and hi jinx when that statist buffoon tries to play his set in Colorado.  Frankly, we look forward to it.  It will be the Statists Against the Stoners and who can possibly buy comedy like that in Las Vegas, huh?

Here at the Rockhouse, we give the edge to the Stoners since we have clumsy drunkie Statists versus demented and devious Stoners.  The Statists have been losing this one since the Forties with the First Goon, Harry Anzinger, but it's funny to see them keep trying as if there's anyone in the country who really cares what they do or has given any consideration to it in the last seventy years or so.

Meanwhile, there's an offering which might, repeat, might be credible in dealing with Mexican heroin.  (RT:  US offers to help fund Mexico’s heroin eradication efforts ‒ report)

To any observation just now, there are no eradication efforts but we do know the border wall is just a cynical and expensive joke since heroin always finds a way; it's only the price which changes.

Therefore, kill the fields which, I cheerfully remind the viewing audience, is something the Rockhouse has wanted to do for quite some time.  If you want to bomb something, fucking bomb the opium poppy fields in Mexico rather than talking shit about terrorism while it grows in fields just South of here.

As its opioid epidemic grows into a full-blown crisis, the US has offered to work with Mexico to eradicate its poppy fields. Additionally, President Donald Trump has agreed to provide nearly $500 million for states to deal with the opioid epidemic.

The US offered to send money to help Mexico in their fight against heroin, William Brownfield of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), part of the State Department, told Reuters in an interview published Friday.

"We would be prepared to support [opium eradication efforts] should we reach a basic agreement in terms of how they would do more and better eradication in the future," Brownfield said.

- RT

Brownfield sounds exceptionally mealy-mouthed so I don't expect much from this but the concept is interesting since I have not heard it previously.

Note:  whenever someone says 'I would be prepared,' just walk away.  Find someone who is prepared or is not but don't waste time with pukey half-ass promises.  Also note how the pukey half-ass promise is conditional.  100% bullshit.

However, there may be potential in it and largely because we don't see any potential in anything else. The full weight of the American military in Afghanistan has, in fact, increased the outflow of opium relative to when the country was controlled by the Taliban.  Therefore, that option is useless so the question is whether Mexican military will be any different in fighting what's essentially another guerrilla war.

We know America has been sucking at guerrilla war ever since Vietnam but maybe Mexico does it better; no way to know.

Ed:  it would be hard to do it worse and impossible to do it more expensively than America

There is no false cynicism since the Rockhouse wants the opium fields burned to the ground wherever they are and that includes the factories for Big Pharma and their opiates but all in good time for those cynical hell rats.

Trump isn't taking anything seriously unless it makes a big splash on Fox News and the problem with opiates gets some weepy, ineffectual bullshit from Jeb Bush but, as you saw, nothing else happened.  Trump talked a lot of shit about dealing with Big Pharma and then folded faster than the leftover linguini.

The attention to wasting these poppy fields does not seem too high so the Rockhouse questions whether anything will come of this any more than Trump's other bogus promises.

So far, it looks like just about all policy comes from getting drunk at Mar-a-Lago and playing Washington Twister.

More fun than a greased pig contest.

The tax revenue from pot sales to fund scholarships is a joke. Nothing more than bait and switch.
Tennessee instituted the lottery and the referendum stated it was for College scholarships. So it passed.
Then billions of dollars were raised through income tax generated from the winnings but that money was not included in the plan only the profit from the sales of lottery tickets.
But it gets worse. The state set up Hope Scholarships from the lottery profits but set the amount low and the qualifications increasingly higher. The excess money each year was not used to increase the Hope money but fund Head Start daycare programs and pre school lunches( both of which are sorely needed).
Then they raised tuition dramatically. So the out of pocket for students and their parents was the same or higher than pre lottery costs.
They also took funding away of the colleges from the General Tax revenue and replaced it with Lottery Tax Revenues. So now all the Lottery money both sales profits and income tax are basically just general operating income for the state.
All done by the last Tax and Spend governor

When they never do anything about the military except run up the cost, the labels of 'tax and spend' really don't do anything.

Since this is state tax and government your dismissal as trivial because of government spending on the military is lost.

Ah, another favored scam from the GOP that Fed funding doesn't matter since the state covers it. Such thinking implies a severe mathematics challenge in the speaker.

Well I am very confident in my mathematical ability.
I understand how to spend less than I make and ensure I have money to spend.
But hell that kind of math and finance is taught in 7th or 8th grade
