Jeb Bush and a Torpedo into the War on Drugs

When Jeb Bush related problems with drug abuse by his daughter, he gave us the best example of how the war on drugs has changed ... now that white people are the primary abusers of narcotics. Ninety percent of new abusers in recent years has been with white people and with much less in the original target: poor, mostly-black neighborhoods.  (VOX:  How a heroin epidemic among white Americans led to a softer war on drugs)

Hang on before you blow out of your chair.  The article is well-reasoned and the author is not trying to start fires but rather reason with what has happened in the last forty years.

The article was written by German Lopez / @germanrlopez on Twitter.

He makes a fair point and it's accurate to the history.

But, what will you do about it.

Mr Lopez is right that punishing white people as heinously as black people have been punished doesn't create some equality where it didn't exist previously but rather screws over a whole raft of white people of whom a good many will wind up career criminals after a period of time in jail.

So, that pends.  What will people do.  That gets all political with for-pay private prisons, unbalanced drug penalties, etc.  The object isn't to get political with it because there are no politics once this stuff starts soul-sucking.

The only question is how do you make it stop.

It was good to hammer the doctor for murder after she was working a pill mill.  That is endorsed by, I believe, Lotho from the right and the Socialist Mad Hatters strongly endorse that as well.  In our view, people who push narcotics are in the same class as child molesters.  Devil's Island comes to mind.

I will not be a party to an execution under any circumstances.  I have no problem with Devil's Island because we can fetch them if it happens they were sent there without justification.  However, if you have done something bad enough to get out there, you will stay there and the human race will lose nothing by it.

This the people on the street will see.  All anyone gets out of jail now is more tats and street credibility.  Send the big ones to Devil's Island and it's not about any manly thing anymore, your ass is not coming back and there are no women there.

(Ed:  what about the femmes?)

Dropping femmes on Devil's Island is condemning them to death, most likely  ...  so ... we need a second one as well.  If women get a pass then some stiff can use his woman as a front.  Ain't happenin'.

If you want a War on Drugs, then fight it the right way and don't piss away resources on things which don't matter (e.g. reefer and mushrooms, peyote, etc - all natural and unmodified).

If you want that War then don't play this penny ante crap which has destroyed countless lives over about the last thirty-five years.  Make it a battle.

You need the stomach for this because there will be dead people.  If you want to make it a war then bring out the drone bombs and take out the poppy fields which, according to report, have expanded tremendously in Mexico over recent decades.

(Ed:  Gandhi is going to bust your ass)

There is no hypocrisy as I've said previously sometimes the combat is righteous.  Narcotics are an obvious threat and a deadly, dangerous one.  It takes the best minds and always has.  Stupid people will likely die off quickly and the ones who are in the light are often brilliant (e.g. Miles Davis, Lenny Bruce, Amy Winehouse, on and on).

If you want a war then make it real.  ISIS is not America's dog and it's the Middle East's job to train it.  The heroin poppies are definitely an American dog and that one needs some major corporal punishment.

There is no need for sneaky.  Make the deal with the Mexican government, we are going to find them and we are going to kill them.  Demand will skyrocket in any country in which these narcotics are readily available and the Orient has shown that for centuries.  The only way to stop it is to wipe it out.

There is no way to hide large fields of poppies from aerial surveillance.  The flowers are blazing red and should stand out like a waving flag.  Waste them.  Obliterate the stuff.

(Ed:  what if they put humans in the area?)

They will die and they will be legitimate casualties of war.

You want a bio war?  Make it real.

Get your GMO hotshots to find whatever viral susceptibilities Papaver somniferens, the Opium Poppy, may have.  Catch that virus and have those hotshots modify the payload.

(Ed:  sure and the virus jumps to people and kills everyone)

Rabbits infested Australia and unknown what got it started but there were so many rabbits they could completely cover the ground all around any watering hole.  That was addressed by introduction of Myxomatosis, a disease caused by the Myxoma virus.  Scientists did not modify the virus but rather introduced it to Australia in the fifties to deal with the rabbits.

The example is not identical because scientists knew already from Uruguay, from where they obtained the virus, that it would not jump to humans because it never had with them.  There would not exist that kind of field experience with your GMO virus to wipe out the poppies but the general precedent does exist and it also demonstrates the efficacy of it.

You've majorly got to roll out the Ethics Council for this one.

(Ed:  Gandhi will light yo' ass afire)

I will have to ask forgiveness because this war cannot be lost, the price is too high.

(Ed:  it sounds all-out ruthless)

To an extent that's true but the military has a moral responsibility to cost as few lives as possible without losing sight of the mission.  Perhaps American troops will have to go but how many boys would sign up for 'a clear and present danger' which is an immediate threat to the kids and they know this to be true.  This one I could stand behind.

(Ed:  the Socialist Mad Hatter Party will disown you)

Nah, the others hate the dealers too.  This goes all the way back to Steppenwolf.  That never changed.

We're not going to jack around with local dealers but rather we will go to the source and wipe it out.

Yep, I believe I need to make the compromise for this one.  So many people have died from those drugs already.
