The Marvel of Lavrov and His Calm Sense of Reason

Lavrov of Russia has a remarkable sense of calm as does Putin and, without that, the world would already be in a state of war as you hear now with the absurdity from Joe "The Vacant" Biden who says he considers 'a measured response' to Russian cyberattacks.

Biden obviously doesn't have the wit of a shirt button and, not surprisingly, Eric Snowden is ridiculing his deliberately provocative charges.  Despite Biden's sophomoric insults, Lavrov remains perennially cool and an extraordinary inspiration for peace from a most unlikely source.  Through all my life, the Soviet Union or Russia has been portrayed as 'the bogeyman' and some of it was true but, as we see with the Obama administration, hardly anything coming out of Washington is truth anymore.

I noticed an intimation earlier in comments in which it was implied (i.e. stated flat out) that any choice of Jill Stein also implies a recent lobotomy.  Although I loathe cliches such as 'that begs the question,' in this case, it does.  Other than Sanders, what possible other choice is there?   (Assuming you want to walk away from the election with a clear conscience)

Much as it may make the skin of others crawl with like it wants to get up and run, I remain the Voice of Reason since it's never my purpose to kill anyone nor to permit the death of anyone through my inaction.  Yes, humans would behave vastly better if governed by Asimov's Laws of Robotics but America doesn't even make its robots obey the Laws of Robotics.

So, darlin', wanna trip the light fantastic, do you?

(Ed:  one more of those and I shoot!)

Since I'm just positive you do, here's the way to make the music:

Mystery Lady and Cadillac Man, I hope you know this one is for you.  This is the true old timey juke which (sob) Waffle House has now abandoned with the sterile machine from the modern time and you can get one for your very own for, get this, $7,500 from eBay.  Get one with S&H Green Stamps, huh?

Note:  if you don't know how S&H Green Stamps were used, you're still a lil pine tree with not so many rings in the trunk.

Yes, of course I remember Blue Chimp stamps and my ol' Mother collected them diligently because, regardless of the absurd claims of the Republican Party (i.e. all of them), university profs don't make that much and six kids will strain any salary's strength.

I know just the sight of a Wurlitzer juke could trigger multiple memories with likely the best ones when we were still too young to know each other but I really doubt any of those memories are bad.

See ... that wasn't so bad, right??  (larfs)

Zaharakos Confectionery In Columbus, Indiana has a Welte Style 3 Cottage Orchestrion. Made in Germany in 1906 it was installed in Zaharakos Confectionery in 1907 where it remains today. There are only three others known to remain (2 in England and 1 other in the U.S.), It plays rolls and works and sounds like a pipe organ. Zaharakos was started by three Greek Brothers in 1900 and is the finest soda fountain I've had the pleasure of visiting. Here is the link to their website: http://www.mechanicalmusicpress.com/history/welte/wt3zc.htm .

$1800 in 1907! They could have bought the Titanic for that and I'm glad they made the right decision. What an exceptional instrument! And this one was right in your town. Amazing!

It is in Columbus, Indiana which is about 1 hour south of Indiananapolis. Columbus, Indiana in addition to Zaharakos is known as a Midwestern Mecca of Architecture - http://www.npr.org/2012/08/04/157675872/columbus-ind-a-midwestern-mecca-of-architecture. While it is a 3 hour plus drive from Columbus, Ohio it is well worth it.

There are enough sources in the links you send to put an article together, albeit without the authenticity of having been there. That must have been one pure delight!
