The Galactic Peace Tour at Palo Duro Canyon

Note:  I liked calling the vehicle my 'truck' and it sure felt big enough to be one but the thing which really made it was that Mercedes diesel as I really loved that.  I do believe I could have driven that truck around the world and it would only have turned around at the end it to say, "That was great.  Let's have another go."

It's a Sprinter which was marketed by Dodge but manufactured by Mercedes.  It's only available under a Mercedes label now.  I really don't see what sense it made to call it a Dodge in the first place.

Palu Duro Canyon State Park is near Amarillo, TX, and this is as far West as the Galactic Peace Tour got.  I knew the place I was seeking (from a painting I did as a kid) was somewhere in the Southwest but I did not find it.  I still believe it exists but was not able to locate it.  The location is not in any population center, of that much I'm sure.

(Ed:  Disneyland!)

Nah as they have all the little dolls singing about a small, small world but this one is immense and full of more magic than Disney, despite his immense powers, would ever be able to put into a cartoon.

You can see in the background part of the attraction in the canyon since it's primal and is said to be second only to the Grand Canyon in size.  The Grand Canyon is where I learned, the hard way, to enjoy being a tourist.  I was right by the Canyon but drove on past because, man, I need to get to California and, likely not to anyone's surprise, I never got past that way again.  Nothin' is so important it can't wait a few hours while I enjoy something beautiful and give it the appreciation it deserves.

(Ed:  are you talking about sex or touring?)

Apply it as you will.

(Ed:  are you some kind of sex god?)

Fuck no.  More than likely I'll take touring.  I've spent as much of my life as I possibly could doing that.  Check the MAP tab on the top as it's insane and it's still not all of the wandering.  All my life means starting out when I was one-year-old since that's when my family left Scotland for Australia.  It's in the blood.  Since many in both sides of the family wander that way, there's a gene for it, right?

When population pressure gets too high, the incidence of gay rats in the population increases and I believe also some percentage of them hit the road.  Tell me that's not genetic.

(Ed:  are you gay?)

No ... and I'm not a rat either despite what the political types may say (larfs).

That was my one shot plus a few charcoal drawings but I can't say I particularly impressed myself with any evidence of talent (larfs).

I know one painter ... and she is not me. It's really kind of a shame more people have not seen your work when it's so beautiful.

It was a bit frustrating as I tried to be supportive but your interests are so varied maybe you would switch to batik and I'd be thinking, whoa, maybe it would be better if I STFU (larfs). It wasn't a hurtful feeling but rather puzzling since I'm more single-minded that way.
