Still No Comprehensive Dump of Articles from S.D. Yet ... But ...

Cat feces carry toxoplasmosis and it's deadly to Hawaiian monk seals.  Cats are not native to Hawaii and feral cats are the source of the problem.  The recommendation is to catch the feral cats and farm out the ones which are adoptable and euthanize the rest to protect the animals which really are endemic to the island.

With that theme in hand, the battle is on with the same people who created the problem:  irresponsible cat owners who have not been willing to take responsibility for their pets.  (ABC:  Deadly Cat Poop Causes Rift Among Animal Defenders in Hawaii)

The article presents a frustrating mix of science and non-science so here's an example of the latter:

Classifying animals with labels such as native and invasive creates a "hierarchy in which the protection of certain animals comes at the suffering of others," Hawaiian Humane Society President and CEO Pamela Burns wrote in a letter opposing the state Senate bill that would have banned feeding cats on state land.

It's always so refreshing to hear double talk and flim flam from the perpetrators of this exact problem.  The same situation exists all over America and likely the same reaction would be engendered in any state of the Union.  The difference elsewhere is the presence of uniquely Hawaiian fauna in that state although the costs from feral cats can be shown anywhere you care to look.

When people are not willing to take responsibility for housing such pets, they should at least have the decency toward the environment to neuter them but they don't and then they turn to complain whenever the problem they cause is noted.

The problem of feral cats is largely ubiquitous but also that way is the use of such spineless euphemisms as 'pooh' when feces is an adequate socially-acceptable expression and 'shit' expresses the get down truth of it.

The egregiously prissy nature of people is best exemplified with the term 'sleeping together' and there's the standing comeback from old people when we say, "You young people, you don't sleep."

That's mildly amusing but still dishonest since it only implies the truth which is they fucked and so what.  If you need some type of pantywaist euphemism, 'had sex' is entirely sterile in opposition to the actual concept, but at least it's honest.

Puritanical is something uniquely American as the rabid fear of sex or any reference to it is owned by the Puritans.  I had thought it had originated in the original Garden of Eden story but that's not true since the same boob fear is not endemic throughout the world where most people regard America's boob fear as laughable.

(Ed:  if you're looking for honesty anywhere, you're going to get as hungry as a cat in a greenhouse!)

Yah, fair enough but I look nevertheless.  Carlin shredded that kind of verbal dishonesty and usually such people ended up on this list for those who should be killed:

In case you have never heard it, the list of people is almost certainly not what you may anticipate.
