What politics?
The plug for Jill Stein in the sidebar has removed but support for Doctors Without Borders and War Child is undiminished.
(Ed: sore loser?)
We're all losers on this bus, mate.
Lotho recently lamented sending his kids to uni really didn't do them much good but almost everything I write is a direct result of the knowledge which came to me from uni with Anthropology in the forefront and Biology with Psychology as adjuncts. It was a hybrid degree which permitted a triple major, none of which served me in any way in computers but which have served my life richly.
(Ed: 'richly??' You can't be serious!)
There are many forms of wealth and not all of them clink in your pocket.
The Raven's passion for history is self-evident and getting him together with Cadillac Man would be dangerous (larfs).
We also see his joie de vivre in the way he portrayed the Demon Crack Dealer in "The Woman in the Snow" in the Cincinnati show. (Ithaka: "Woman in the Snow" featuring Donika and The Raven in Dance (video))
He gained immeasurably from his schooling but, as with many forms of a Liberal Arts curriculum, the result of that may not be immediately apparent.
Note: I don't mean to offend anyone by classifying History as an arts program rather than one of the sciences but we see people practicing that art in multiple areas and typically they don't do it very well. It's artists like Cadillac Man who can bust them for it but those who do it badly don't typically listen because, well, everyone hates History, right?
He's still a young historian yet as he's got a measure of 'my way or the highway' thinking in him but marriage will straighten that thinking right out (larfs).
The interest in History is fairly high here as well but we see the interest in many is largely political while it's so much more than that. For example, researchers just now are trying to determine how Roman coins, from many centuries earlier, wound up in Japan.
Note: I've bumped into that topic previously but I found a source with more detail and will review that another time.
(Ed: what's the delay?)
Exhaustion. Yesterday was one of the worst beatdowns in my life when it became clear there is definitely no other move I can make since the Silas don't beg. Recovering from that won't come quickly but that's what makes Old Fuckers tough or dead.
(Ed: you mean to start begging?)
You ain't from around here, are yewwww (larfs).

A local university just made the connection. They are raising admission standards in order to raise graduation rates.
And these people are the same people trying to educate these kids
Didn't we talk of this once before, that raising standards is important to get away from the 'diploma mill' situation which seems to exist today.
I think we, the people, are trying to educate the kids and university is one aspect but we need better focus on vocational disciplines as well. In general, it seems there's thinking there must be a 'diploma in every pot' and it's not likely that's necessary for anyone but that seems the unanimous focus on how to do it.
I was just commenting on a university that actually realized the correct path
Ah, I misread it then and, yes, I agree it's the correct path. It's the Alex Evolution Class Principle as you make it hard as hell but worth it and they will still come.
